The digital world is made up of many virtual communities that don't always come into contact with real communities. On the other hand, many real communities are completed by a virtual presence. What does this mean for churches?
Christian communities today are part of an era of hybrid presence. This tool will help us to reflect on the different forms of presence via digital technology, using as a base, four stories from the New Testament.
In these Bible passages, the presence is made up of two axes.
- a channel, Christ or the Spirit, that brings people together, directly or through witnesses.
- a process, a setting into motion (by sharing, confiding or letting go) that corresponds to a power (virtual) or a coming together.

This version of the contactGPS is very close to the research of an Anglo-French theologian, Antonin Ficatier, whose grid was published in the revue Foi et Vie, in an article called "Presentia" - the title also used for this GPS.
